IAAI received “Spirit of the UN Award 2013” in ‘Youth Outreach’ Category
at a special ceremony 21st of October 2013
at UN Church Center, 777 UN Plaza, New York (SUNA invitation flyer)
Miroslav Polzer / IAAI will be introduced at the ceremony by Ms. Christina Stevens, author, film maker, former executive director of Captain Planet Foundation and benevolent and supportive companion on IAAI’s Rio+20 GYMC journey.
Information about Spirit of the UN Award (SUNA):
The Spirit of the UN Award (SUNA) is presented to members of the UN Community – Ambassadors, UN Staff, NGOs, and youth representatives – who uphold the founding spirit of the United Nations.
SUNA Criteria (see History of SUNA for details):
- Someone that has demonstrated the vision and spirit of the United Nations as expressed through the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Week of Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns.
- Someone that has done exemplary work in promoting spirituality and values at the United Nations and beyond and is widely recognized and highly respected for his/her collaborative work.
- Someone who has been working in the United Nations community for a minimum of 5 years or more.
IAAI’s earned its SUNA merits in the field of United Nations related Youth Outreach primarily by organizing “Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest” (see http://www.academia.edu/2401920/The_Rio_20_Global_Youth_Music_Contest_Journey_Towards_The_Future_We_Want_-_Photo_documentary_presented_in_the_context_of_International_Day_of_Youth_12_August_2012 & www.global-rockstar.net for details).
Therefore at IAAI we are delighted to share – with a great “Thank You!” – the public recognition that we receive with SUNA 2013 Award with our Rio+20 GYMC cooperation partners within UN Sysstem (UN DESA, Major Group Children and Youth, UNIS Vienna, UN DPI, UNAoC, ..) and especially also with our numerous youth partner organizations and enthusiastic indiviudals who served as GYMC National and Regional coordinators building with their work and spirit ‘The Future We Want’ all around the world!
Let the Music Talk! Let the Rhythm Play! Let the World Know what the Youth have to Say!
