IAAI co-hosted Panel on ‘UN System’s Interactions with Local Actors in Provision of Global Public Goods’ at ACUNS Vienna UN Conference 2014

As in previous years (see http://www.glocha.info/index.php/latest-news/207-acunsviennaunconf2013 for details), IAAI was partnering again with ACUNS Vienna Liaison Office regarding ACUNS Vienna UN Conference (15 – 17 January 2014, Vienna INternational Center, Vienna/Austria) which is one of the highlights of UN Office Vienna’s outreach to civil society and academia in Austria and Central European countries.

IAAI hosted together with UNEP Office Vienna the Panel “UN Interactions with Local Actors in the Provision of Global Public Goods” 16 January 4.00 – 4.45 PM in Conference Room C3, C Building, 7^th floor.

Aims of the Panel

Contributing to the overall aims of ACUNS Vienna UN Conference of connecting UN system academics and practitioners
Inviting academic research and discussion on the conceptual framework of „Local Provision of Global Public Goods“ as basis for multistakeholder engagement in global governance in general and sustainable development governance in particular
Highglighting Regional potentials in Austria and Central Europe, European Union for Building the Knowledge Base for Global Governance focusing on social and technological Innovation
Presenting IAAI/GloCha activities and plans as potential global flagship initiatives for civic engagement and in particular youth engagement in UN system and putting it in context of Austrian leadership in UN system, the work of Vienna based UN agencies and activities and potentials of our coopertaion partners like Wikimedia Austria and other competence centers like e.g. FGGS
