IAAI hosted a #GiveYouthaChance panel on Youth Empowerment for Agenda 2030 at NGO Summit for the SDGs at UN HQ in NY 26 of August 2016.
Ravi Karkara (senior adviser at UN Women, IAAI vice president and co-chair of UN Inter-Agency Network of Youth Development) chaired the session masterfully, provided a vivid thematic introduction (including information about UN Women’s LEAP programme), Ms. Hanifa Mezoui, senior adviser at UNAOC highlighted the role of intercultural dialogue, Miroslav Polzer, secretary general of IAAI presented IAAI GloCha, our flagship initiative Global Challenges Youth Music Contest and our resource mobilization plans (ppt can be found belowlink to youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdhUumrA0QM), Melody Chang presented Youthink Center and our joint activities in China, Esther Mc Farlane presented the Global Education First initiative and Anam Gill sent us a video message presenting her Dialogue Cafe Lahore as one way of empowering youth to take local action on global challenges with institutional support of IAAI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hfXAC2BO9M
