The side event “Music, Sport and ICT for Youth Engagement in Crime Prevention“ builds on past UNODC programs in the field of Sport for Development and IAAI’s global civil society leadership role in youth engagement for United Nations led Sustainable development programs and goals established in recent years (e.g. through Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest & Rio+20 Issues Cluster on Innovation, IAAI events at 6th and 7th session of UN Open Working Group on SDGs, membership in Global Partnership for Youth in post2015 Development Agenda, membership in the Program and Strategy Group of post2015 World We Want initiative, etc.) and shall connect IAAI’s youth engagement initiatives like “Global Hub on Youth, Information and Communication Technologies for Sustainable Development (YouthICT4SD) Hub” in Klagenfurt (Austria), Global Challenges World Cup and Global Challenges Youth Actionpedia with the future work of UNODC in the field of youth engagement in Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
